Unanswered: Clunk

My 73 GT has a quite loud clunk in the right front suspension. The only time it does this is if I hit a sharp edged bump (speed bump etc ) it doesnt have to be big just something that makes the suspension react quickly. Normal suspension travel, even to extremes doesnt cause the clunk. I was planning to replace all the bushing anyway but I want to make D****d sure this problem goes away. I forget to tell you the shocks are new, but the clunk was there before the new shocks. All bushing seem to be intact but you cant see the insides. Any help in locating this anoyance and possible solutions would be greatly appreciated.

More likely steering outer tie rod end ball joint worn out . . .

Raise car on problem side until tire is free, grasp both sides of tire and wiggle back and forth to determine slop in steering . . . there should be NONE!

Hate it when that happens! Sure hope it's not a permanent affliction . . . uh, we are talking cars here, right?
