Unanswered: ID a crossmember

Got a sway bar from OGTS in the mail today.
The sucker bolted right in
Question is did the '70 GT come from the factory with sway mounts or do I have a later model crossmember ?
I know the '69 model didn't but I'm not sure about the '70.

U.S. spec GT's did not come with sway bars. Some came with mounts, some didn't. It all depends what Opel had in stock when they were building these cars. All Euro spec GT's came with front and rear swaybars. HTH

Exclamation Opel GT swaybar mounts . . . all GTs!

Swaybars info is essentially correct, but swaybar mounts terminology needs a bit more definition.

AFAIK, ALL GTs came with designed in front and rear "mounts" - pre-drilled and tapped swaybar mounting points - just not the swaybars or their mounting brackets on US models, as indicated in the post above.

The after-market Lenk front swaybar uses the Opel designed mounts, Addco's does not . . . always wondered why, kind of like "reinventing the wheel", IMO! That's why there are spacers there, though many are lost over time, between the innermost vertical mounting bolts of the engine cradle and the chassis frame rails!

I vote for these 2 spacers as being one of the rarest stock parts STILL found on a GT . . . the majority of US owners don't even know of their existence even though these are US-Only parts!

Rarer Still

Even harder to find, are the factory front lower control arms, which have a round external surface (where the sway bar adjustment extensions, bolt to them). They were ocasionally sold by US GM dealers in the late
1970's, when the US-type replacemenet lower control arms had apparently sold out.
