Unanswered: fitting new LCA bushings

i got them out but i have no clue on how to get em in without damaging them (yes, not very smart). How do i go about this task?

the upper ones (although with hard work) went in quite easily. But with the lower one i have no idea on how to do it.

a second question: the inner sleeve shouldn't have any play on the "knuckle's post", should it?

The inner sleeves should have no play at all when inserted in the arm cavity. You will need to press the sleeve in but from what you are saying, I would get new sleeves from OGTS and have a machine shop do the work.

The second part of your question I suppose has to do with getting the existing rubber bushings out. There are many ways to do this, you can burn them, drill them or my favorite is to use a hole saw and just grind them out.

But since you probably have to get new sleeves, I would take care of that and forget about the old assembly.

the old ones (including the sleeves) are out. A hammer solved that.

some research later i found that they can be tapped in with a hammer so that is what i will try.

does anybody know if there is a difference between a GT LCA bushing and one for a kadett B? (its a 73) that might explain the play i have on them. (OD of the bushing is perfect, ID is about 1mm too large for the post)

edit: the same movie in a better format. which makes it a bit cleared how much play there is. The first wiggle is with the new bushings, the second is the old inner sleeve.

I think there are two different size bushings depending upon year of manufacture??
