Dave, I'll stick up for you against Baz on this one. The spring rates for a Rallye Manta have never been posted on this site. RallyBob has given me the rates for plain Manta before, and someone else has surmised how much the springs are stiffer for a Rallye. I would have answered sooner but my hard copies are at home. But I'll try to list from memory for the plain Manta.
Front 135 pounds/inch Linear Rear 113 to 180 progressive I found an old email and updated the numbers above... Awhile back I sent my Bilsteins in and had them rebuilt and dynoed. If you like we can compare notes on the valving of my shocks......

they are the spring rates i can find for mantas on site and if i post the ones in my book it will make folks scratch heads as they are in kg/cm
but i can only find 1 set of rates so assume they cover rallye too as rallye is a trim level not a tuning level as far as i know

Thanks both Paul anbd Baz.
Guys,
Baz, I searched first, but may not have used the right search combination. I appreciate the reminder nonetheless. Paul, thanks for the spring rates. I don't know how much "spring" is left in my springs but I appreciate the help. I may need to get some new springs instead. Thanks again. Dave |

My Opel microfische shows one spring rate for US-spec Manta's, only the shock part # differs for the Rally. European cars are another issue altogether, there are lots of optional springs (heights and rates) depending on country and spec level. Bob Last edited by RallyBob; 03-16-2006 at 05:28 PM. |

Dave,
I sent mine in and had them put the shocks in the dyno and give me a call. From there it was a fun process. I've got more info than can be put into this site and it will be confusing at best. The best thing to do is contact me off list ftsmithpaul at cox.net. I can forward you pages and pages of info. Also, I would advise you give me a call 479-739-2544 (moble) and I can walk you thru what was done and my impressions of the results. Paul Crane
