power steering

I have seen a hydraulic power steering rack for the GT available in Germany for about 1000.00 I believe. Pretty neat unit, cost a bunch to get it here

A few folks have retrofitted power steering to their GT's. Have a look at

Why???? I love the feedback I get from the steering on my 71 GT when I am pushing the 35 mph corner at 65. Much better than my wife's new Nissan 350. JMTCW

stop-gap

if the steering effort is just a bit too much, you might try swapping out the GT steering arms on the back of the spindles for Kadett ones. They are a bit longer and make the steering easier to turn. The down side is it'll take more turning of the wheel to get the same amount of cornering, but probably not as sloppy as power steering would be.
