I think so....

As far as I know it should fit, I don't think that the steering column changed between years.

i think so.. confused when I compared the columns

I put 72 column in a model year 70(mfg nov 69),it worked fine BUT...the wires are diifferent in # and color at the plastic wire plug.

for instance..my early 70 wiring colors at the column doesn NOT follow the destec diagram.

So you are saying all that is different is the color of the wires at the connector? everything else is fine?

looks a bit different

plugs in and works fine, I made a call to Gil and he confirmed this last year befored I installed it.

so yes, they interchange w/o problems.

As I recall, an extra wire lead for the seat belt warning buzzer (which a '69 does not have) is the only significant difference.

I had a later steering column in my 69 for awhile. If I remember correctly, there is a slight difference in the color codes, but the only real issue was that one or two wires in one of the plugs (the black and white multi-plugs that connect into the fuse box) had to be switched around. One of the plugs does not use all six spots and it seems that I had to move one or two to match the plug in the fuse box. It may have been the dimmer switch wire.

The wiring diagrams won't tell you this. The 69-70 diagrams do not show the plugs, so the only way to tell is to look at the actual plugs and wires on your columns.

I could be wrong on this, but I do remember having to monkey around with the wires and the plugs.
