Unanswered: Spring for rear axle

Hi again..

I am going to buy new springs for the rear axle to my GT.

Is it the same as on Kadett B/C, or are there any other Opels with the same springs? The originals are 10mm thick.

Any shock absorbers to recommend?

And a brake question..
Can I use the master cylinder from a rekord on my gt?

Again, thanks for good answers for my questions!

They are not the same as Kadett B or C. There were two versions of springs for the GT that I know of in Europe, the standard type and 'reinforced' which had a stronger spring rate.

Bilstein was original and is very good. Koni is of course very good too, and the ride quality is better.

This I don't know. What type Rekord? What bore diameter? If it is ATE brand, it may fit, but it may not have correct valving. However early Manta/Ascona A will fit the GT (later type Manta A was Delco or FAG and does not have the same mounting pattern).
