Unanswered: Panhard Rod Staight or Curved?

I've got the rear-end out of my GT on what started out to be only a pinion oil seal leak fix and has turned into a full suspension upgrade.

Anyway, my panhard rod has such a nice graceful curve in it that I've always assumed that it was supposed to be that way. Now in looking at all my manuals and postings here, the rod is always dead straight!!

What's the deal? Is this thing supposed to be straight or what?

Well it sounds like you already answered your own question. They are straight till the rear end has a side load it's not intended to take ( curb ).

Where in BC are you?

Thanks,

It appears I may have missed a portion of the insurance claim when I got rear-ended in that quarter a few years back.
