I'll be dropping my rear axel probably tomorrow to weld on rear swaybar mounts, and replace shocks, rear suspension bushings, and replace the torque tube donut. All of this should make a drastic difference and it doesn't seem too complicated to drop the axel, what is it 2 bolts, universal joint, and E-brake cable at minimium?

One At A Time
Just to install springs you don't have to drop the rear end. Raise the GT on one side remove that wheel, reach in and pull the spring, if for some reason it does not want to come out just undo the shock at the rear end, if you have to do this meathod use another jack to support the rear end and us a jack stand on the GT. Insert your new spring put the wheel back on, torque lug nuts and repeat for the other side.

Jordan, not necessarily in this order, but, Panhard rod, both ends, shocks bottom only if not replacing, forward end of the trailing arms, U-joint (has to be on jack stands for this), e-brake cable adjuster and spring, torque tube mounting bolts (before you take out the bolts here, check the orientation of the washers on each side). Putting it back together, torque tube first, then however you want, I prefer the rear end of trailing arms first then the front, panhard rod body end in before the axle end. Have fun, it's not that hard to take out, but a little testy putting it back together.
