    What rims is this?

    Hey, I recently picked up an Opel and I was curious if any of you recognize the front rim? is it stock? the rears look like some sort of chrome reverse.

    The front rim(s) look like the one off the ill-fated (sorry Ron) Chevy Monza, which was a kinda replacement for the Chevy Vega, which had a bolt circle of 4" which is slightly larger than 100mm.
    The rear ones look like the cheap set of wheels you could get that you mount a "basket" in the recessed area and it would look similar to a wire wheel like the company Dayton used to make.

    I've seen an Isuzu wheel that looked similar, but it was 14".

    Gene, they don't look like mine, maybe a 2 + 2 fastback, mine has stainles wheel covers on it. On a kinda sorta note, I was airing up the tires yesterday and noted I'm gonna need some on the rear of the monza pretty soon. I think I'll go with the Sumitoma you recommended a while back for Willit?, they appear to be working o.k.

    There's a yellow GT pictured somewhere here on the site that has a set of these wheels...can't remember the owner, but perhaps it'll spark a memory in someone. I believe the car may have had spoilers front and rear.

    Good memory Todd. That is my GT you are remembering. I have never been able to determine who made the rims but I believe Gene may be right. They look to have a slightly larger hole pattern than 100mm but I use acorn type lug nuts and always ensure that they 'self center' when tightening them down. They ride nicely and I have never had a problem, but I never drive it very far either.

    Ron;
    I just remember the Monza having something VERY similar to these. They're one piece aluminum, with a polished surface. You may be correct about the 2+2 if that is what I call the "fastback" version (actually it was a hatch back) and not the notch back like you have. Here in GA we had more fast backs, in fact my wife had the Olds version (Starfire) and if you even mention it to her you'd better run, she HATED that car.

    Thanks for the welcome and all the input. The reason why I was wanting to know is because the front passenger side is the only one with that rim. The other front has the deep dish and it looks less desirable.. a pain having one oddball rim.

    I thank you because I am also a RX-7 guy and it's so hard to get info on rx7club.com without getting your head chewed off unlike on here. And no I'm not planning a rotary swap, I'd like to be able to take a break from the worry,headaches and not too great fuel economy the 13b often comes with.. but i still love them. Ill be 20 soon and this is my first piston powered car

    It musta been one with the I-4 engine or maybe the 6, IDK. I guess I'm lucky, mine is still running strong, with the 5.7L, factory installed, only available in 75 and only for CA. Somethiing about smog, IIRC.

    Ron;
    Her Starfire was a V8 model, but, ended up popping a rod through the block, quite literally in the middle of "nowhere" GA. You CAN NOT mention the name Olds Starfire without incurring her ire!

    Maybe it's the 5.0L GM engine. The only listing for the 5.7L was here in CA and only 75 as I said earlier. I definately will not mention that mine is still running and fun to drive, far be it from me to incur her wrath. Blowing a rod is not my idea of fun, anywhere any time.

    Well thanks for the replys guys, i wasn't able to get another rim to match it yet but for the time being I decided to use the 17 inch enkei rims off of my rx7 since I would be parking it anyway. new school look in the front old school in the back. it's different. I have some body work to do.. I know.

    Model:"Enkei RS6"
    They are discontinued, but you can still get them at discount tire for an inexpensive 100 dollars a piece for that reason. I don't know the offset, but heres the deal.
    I put 2 inch lowering shackles on the front and even with those shackles the 17 inch rims clear them on the inside diameter. I don't know the offset but the lug pattern is i believe 4x100 which isn't perfect but works well. There are two patterns on those rims. the 4x100 is the smaller and the rx7 which is also 4 lug uses the larger pattern. I have 3/4 inch wheel spacers on the front and harder extended lug bolts to widen the stance. They looked really sucked in in the fender well with their absence.. It could of used a good solid inch spacers but I felt like I might be pushing it as it is safety wise. in case you want to know the tires are Yokohama Parada 205/35/17 so i think that pans out to 7 inches wide.

    oh and it does rub on the inner fender well BARELY at full tilt on the inner fender well where ur feet sit on driver and passenger side, but since my car is a beater i am going to take a little hammer and pound the sheet metal in a quarter of an inch to clear it. I can tell by the dirt from the tire where it rubs what needs modified. That's all it needs and its out of sight so no biggie. Normal driving i don't hear or feel anything. only usually at full tilt backing out of a driveway or something. so thats my solution. il take a picture of what I'm talking about soon. it's nothing really
