hand pump

I finally changed the oil in the rear differential. Figured out the whole bottom bolt drain thing. It was almost comical, me trying to get the gear oil back into the thing. After making a huge mess, I finally went back the hardware store where I had seen a little hand pump (made to pump oil into the lower unit of outboard boat motors). It screws right onto the gear oil bottle, you pump the oil up and into wherever it has to go. Just thought I'd mention it as a $10 time and mess saver. Probably would work nice for the tranny oil too.

Yep, been using one of these little pumps for more than 35 years . . . most parts stores have them right next to the gear oil. Paid between three and four bucks for mine at the time, if I recall . . . and yes, it's still my original one.
