Identifying the source of an Opel running problem, is a deductive process. Most likely suspects would be the ignition system (coil, wires, points, condensor) or the fuel system (fuel pump, vacuum leak, carburetor).

Articles on Opel tune-ups (dated June 2006), can be downloaded from links on the page below:

would a broken rear transmission mount make it clunk
and the bolts that bolt the torque tube to the bracket
what are they supposed to look like when done up

Certainly a broken mount would wreak all kinds of havoc with your drive train. The two pictures I found in my stash are of my car before the rebuild so they are pretty nasty, and the mount is torn on both sides but you can at least see how the whole thing goes together.

can somone explain why the torque tube is bolted down if the rear suspension goes up and down
and if the bolts bolting the tube to the bracket are out would that cause the lurch
and why do the bolts keep pulling out

well while the torque tube is bolted to the floor pan the tube itself is inside a flexible mount. Plus the drive shaft inside is carried in a rubber mounted bearing. It is built to flex.
