Unanswered: Torque Tube Rub

Anyone ever see this. Looks like the Barrel of the extension shaft is (was) rubbing on the inside of the torque Tube. What would cause this? Hope this attachment works.

Yea, I couldn't get it any closer. What you don't see is the grooves..looks like a record...but now that you said that, that is probably what it is. The shaft has one rub ring around it, but it looks like the place where the pinion seal would be riding on it. Thanks.

Thanks. I actually just rebuilt this one..new HD Donut (pain the >>> to get in), new bearing, and all new bushings. Now that Rallybob has mentioned the factory weld, I think thats what it is..so its still good. Thanks though.
