Engine going on stand

I'm about ready to put my motor on a stand and can't seem to find any bolts laying around here that would work. Thought I'd see if anyone could tell me what they used to mount their engine to the stand before i went to the store and just started guessing.

Depending on what stand you have, you can measure the thickness of the arms or whatever the bolts go through on the stand and add a little more for going into the block. The bolts will be metric.

the length wasn't my problem, i'm having a hard time finding the right thread pitch at the local stores, have bought 8 bolts, none fit. and they are metric

I can't remember what they are but I just took the bell-housing bolts with me to the store and matched them up.
