Answered: Oil plug threads
I do machine work, so I could probably make myself one if I can't find one to easily.

Auto parts stores carry a 14mm plug that will work.
Not sure about the pitch probably a (1.5). Take the old one with you. The plug seals under the head, with a copper or plastic washer. Hopefully the threads in the oil pan are in good shape. Lyle |

Heh, heh, the old one I have looks like a 1/2-13 stud screwed into a heavy-hex nut and welded together. A real head-scratcher. The 14mm sounds about right, since it takes a fair amount of teflon tape to make it secure in the hole. I'll check to see if the local parts store has any of the 14mm plugs. Thanks.
