| Thanks for the quick response. I wish it was a cold slap or valve noise but I doubt I will get that lucky. Just tried 20-50 Castrol instead of 10-40 and it dampened the noise a little. It is a quiet little engine cold it just has that dreaded sound after it warms up. |

Stan,
EuroBrit carshow June 6! Be there. Seriously, there will be at least one Opel owner and Opel car there. wlkelley3, on this site, is VP of the org. putting on the show at Dublin Park in Madison. There's a section on this site with upcoming events and there is also a thread talking about the show. Unless my plans change I will be there, Opel-less as usual, but there just the same. Harold P.S. Welcome to the group. Move across the border into TN. We don't seem to have many Opeler's in TN. Maybe it is Opelspyder's BO, couldn't be mine, all the animals love me.

If you "ground out " one sparkplug at a time with the Eng. running and the Knocking noise will stoped or be greatly reduced ( So you tell what cyl. is at fault ).
To "Ground out " you can just remove the plug wire and ground it to the Eng. block then start the Eng. ..do this for all cyl.s one -at -a -time . There are other ways to ground out the cyls. that work also. HTH John
