If you're just looking for a replacement I would stick with the original. The Opel fans are made out of something that's sort of like nylon and retain a lot of flexibility. In my experience, I've never seen them break up until they hit something, and then the blades tend to tear rather than splinter (though they will go through a radiator core during an unfortunate event). It's always a good idea to make sure your lower radiator mount hasn't rotted to prevent an unprovoked bad day. Also, there are 5 and 7-blade versions that are interchangeable, the later 7-bladed ones move a little more air. If you can't find one I have a couple laying around. Jim |

Franbev, Why not look into installing an electric fan in front of the radiator. As long as the alt puts out enough amps to run it, you will release a few horses for acceleration, and also get better mileage to boot.

Rather than start a new thread, I'll tag off of this one as it's related. I have heard, or thought I heard, more than I read, that there was a replacement fan for the 75 F.I. clutch fan possibly from Volvo? By fan, I mean the plastic blade part, not the clutch part, or was it the whole thing? Inquiring mind(s) want to know

Contact OpelGTSource or USAOpels/OpelsForever. Either one of them should be able to supply you with either a new, new old stock(nos) or used 5 or 7 blade fan.
