Unanswered: Carb/Choke Problem

Help me please - I have a 71 GT with a Weber 32/36, water choke and Allison Electronic Ignition. When I start the car, it runs great. When warm, the engine goes from 1400 rpms to 800 rpms and the problems start. It appears to flood out, as it starts sputtering and any attempt to give it gas will result in back fire or engine shut off. Only happens when warm. Will restart in a matter of seconds, but immediately do what is described above. New plugs/coil/wires installed along with gas filter. New fuel pump.

If you say, the Choke engages when it warms up. Your Choke is way out of adjustment. I would check to see if it's hooked up correct and the setting are correct.

edit: oh, so now you change your symptoms. Don't know what to say now.

Sounds like your carb is running lean ..check for vacuum leaks and make sure the acc. pump is working.HTH

Are you positive your choke is opening all the way up?

When he first posted, he said that the choke came on after it warmed up. He has since edited it. Not sure what to make of the problem now. Could be any number of things. If you have wet gas in the venturi's after it warms up, then you are flooding the Engine. If it's dry I would check what "guyopel" said.
