k & n trouble

ok i put a k and n filter on my 1.2s opel kadett c 1978 and it did a lovly job quicker pick up and a nice deep roar of the engine but the only thing is when i get to over 50mph it starts juddering just wondered if anyone knows of this problem if theyve done it and if i need to change the settings of the mixture and if so what they are etc i had a mechanic try to do it but hes rubbiosh and the cars NEVER going there again!!!

The K&N filters are much more 'free flowing' than the stock paper ones and may need rejetting of the carb to cure a lean condition due to more air flow.

BTW - I am searching for a NEW 1.1SR or 1.2S OHV camshaft - original Opel. Is there anything like that still available up there?

Show a picture of filter used . . . original air cleaner or small, aftermarket, rectangular 'pan-cake' replacement?

Typically, problem with latter is insufficient amount of air flow 'head room' above choke housing if shallow, ~2 inch tall, version is used!!
