Thanks for the comments. I didn't do the restore on this car, I purchased it as it appears. In fact I didn't know for some time after I got it that they had the gas filler in the center of the rear deck. I too really like the way the setup on my car looks compared with stock, it cleans the rear up a lot (look at my gallery for better shots of the rear). As far as where it came from, no idea, but I would imagine that type of part is fairly easy to come by from a performance/customization supplier(?).

As for the mirrors, I don't know if they are in the stock position, though I don't see why they wouldn't be, but these particular mirrors provide great visibility. I've actually been overly impressed with the visibility in the car in general, I can see everything around me very clearly through the windows and mirrors.

Could it be that they used a gas tank from a kadett or something and altered the filler slightly with a custom cover? I can't imagine it funneling from the side of the car to the middle where the tank opening is.

One of these days I'll crawl under there and see how they put it all together, I'll be sure to let everyone know. One thing that is irritating is that there is a pretty steep angle in the filler neck, and the gas cap fits almost horizontal, so the gas pump nozzle doesn't really go in all that well. I didn't ask PO if there was a trick to filling it up, but so far I haven't been brave enough to FILL the tank, as the cut-off almost certainly won't work this way. Works just fine for putting a "well-judged" amount of fuel in the vehicle though :-)

Got it, copied it, moved it to fuel system. I'd like to know the answer too as it looks good. Jarrell

Actually, it sounds like they did run it to the middle of the car with a stock GT gas tank. Not the way I would have done it though. The thing about relocating the gas cap would be that you could use any wing/spoiler that you wanted and not have to worry about using long neck funnels or what not. Very interesting. Not to mention that you wouldn't have to pay the price to get a stock GT cap.
