Stock carb heat shield
A LOT of different opinions on the use or non-use of this little item. My only take on it is that it is ABSOLUTELY necessary if you're using the "joined" (bolted together) stock intake/exhaust manifold combination, even more true in high temperature areas.
Consider this, GM was and, to a great extent, still is run by "bean counters" and they certainly would NOT have put it on the engine unless necessary. Enough said!
