Red face Unanswered: Intake Manifold Leak

Just bolted up the intake/exhaust manifold after having it planed. New gaskets but it still has an intake leak, torgued the hell out of the bolts, about 35 lbs torque. As far as I know the cylinder head is not warped. Only dies out if I spray the intake manifold heavily with carb cleaner. Didn't use any gasket sealer though, so I'm hoping that may be my only problem. Anybody had a similar problem? I'd really appreciate any help anyone can give me!! Thanks Ron

OK its leaking between the head and the intake? Right!
One thing to check is the flange height of the intake and the exhaust. If the intake has been milled, the flange might be to short for the bolt to tighten up on! Remember the same bolts hold the intake and exhaust on!!!!!!
Either mill the exhaust flange to match, or use a knotched washer to shim the difference.
I also use a little permatex on the intake.

Both the intake and exhaust are planed at the same height. Still have the old bolts and washers on. I'll pray the permatex works. Thanks Ron
