1. What will be a good size pipe for a 1.9L with 32/36 webber, header, electronic ignition?

2. What kind of price will i be looking at?... and if i took it in the AM, about how long would they have it for?(i dont like leaving it over night some where )

ya i saw those but i was leaning tords the loud side but not a burner sound. there was one GT at carlisle this year and for the life of me i cant remember the owners name, that had the sound i was looking for.

The car it was on was a flat black primer GT with i believe 17 inch wheels. he was the guy who used the top front of a GT, like the air scoops, for his belly pan. he stayed at the hotel with us.

...and i stood and talked to this guy for a while!

that is the sound im lookin for!

use 2 inch piping and there is a magnaflow muffler that will fit under your passenger seat where the original muffler went. I "think" the Magnaflow number for that muffler is 12237.

for 2 inch pipe back from the headpipe, a muffler, twin chrome tips (later replaced by these http://www.opelgt.com/rp/showproduct.php/product/43) it cost me $160 and took maybe 60 - 90 min to complete.

...and Jarrell is right, there is a ton of exhaust and muffler info on here.

You would be thinking of dennis (NHopel) with the primer black fuel injected GT I think he had stainless steel headers going to a 2.5" exhaust pipe going to a turbo through muffler ending up with a split pipe and 2 tips.

well its all done, they did 2 1/4 pipe all teh way witha thrush glasspack muffler, and of course the 2 chrome tips. its really nice, and sounds good, low tone with out the "fart". it might be a bit loud for some , but i like it.

Also the owner of the shop makes a new t-shirt every year for his business and sells them at car shows and gives them to his customers. he saw my car and took pictures of it and said he might use my car for his shirt this year!!

i thought that would be awsome!

Cool ....

Nice that people want to use the image of our GTs for their businesses - BUT let them use it for free and that sets the value of the GT => $zero!!
Should have at least got a free job in exchange for the image of your GT

but he gave me a couple Top Value shirts and some hats so that was nice to!

Breakdown of costs...

Do happen to have a breakdown of the costs, say via the bill of sale? I had a rough estimate given to me of $400, and I would love to find out if they'd match the price you got. I will be adding a flexpipe to the forward portion between the muffler and the headpipe, so I expect my price to be a little higher. Also, do you have the part number of the muffler they installed?

Thanks,

Boy, you'd hate to buy parts for new cars then! I see young guys buying $1500 headers and $800 exhaust systems (one muffler, almost no bends, mass produced) on new Subaru STI's and they don't blink an eye when the bill comes up! I personally don't see where they get their money from, I've seen people buy a brand new $30,000 car and a month later they spend $40k in modifications on the same car. Go figure.

Thanks,
The muffler ive had for a while and it cost me $20, its a thrush turbo glasspack with 2.25 inch ends and 25 inches long.

This is what the bill says:

1. Ext. Pipe-$25
2. Tail Pipe-$45
3. Rear Splitter-$30
4. Chrome Tip_$10 X 2=$20
5. Labor- 1hr = $76

Total $196

And then theres tax, so the total was $207.76

not to shabby!
