Unanswered: can i do that???

HI can the stock exhaust manifold be rapted with exhasut heatwrap tape??I want to keep the heat in and not being able to affect the carbs.IM asking becasue the stock cast manifold has a hard time of repaling the tempure by itself what will happen if i restrain the heat inside??

If it is the stock exhaust manifold that bolts togather with the intake manifold and you retain the heat in it, can you spell "vapor lock" Retaining too much heat for an extended time in anything connected to the carburator will result in boiling the fuel in the fuel bowl and creating vapor lock.

Ebay item that says application is for GT.
I don't know how this works or what it's for, but, it may be relevant. My best guess is that it's for a hot air exchange between the exhaust maniford and the carburetor. I would also guess someone would need a different air intake than the GT snorkle to connect it up. Jerry

I believe it's for the Manta series. I remember I saw one many,many years ago. It hooked from the nos 1 exhaust to the bottom of the original air cleaner via a silver hose. If I'm wrong I'll be corrected. Jarrell
