sounds like a simple way to fix that...
I just wanted to throw in my $.02 on something.......
I just had a muffler shop weld into my exhaust a 6-8" section of "flexible pipe" (not sure what the correct terminology is) just past where the headpipe attaches to my 2" exhaust pipe, and before the muffler. I've been having problems with some banging at the rear if two people were in the car or over bigger bumps. Not only has it totally solved that problem but it has made the whole car seem much quieter and with less vibration. My muffler is attached to the center joint bolt and although the attachment includes a rubber piece I think I have been getting alot of vibration thru there.
Happy New Year to all.

yep, i'm pretty sure every car uses them now for that reason, even aftermarket exhausts. its just called a flex pipe, no fancy name.
if you don't have one, get one... i've driven various cars with and without them, if it doesn't have them, they almost always make rattling or banging sounds unless it has very very strong motor mounts, which opels don't at all
