Unanswered: 2.4 Exh Manifold

Well, started tearing down my 2.4 today and found this beauty...
Can these be fixed? I've heard both ways...this is a BAD crack. I was hoping to use the nice Oxy sensor too!

Broken bolts in the flange, that's not a show stopper like the crack. Do I toss it or try to get it fixed?

Todd,
My instinct is to toss it and pick another up from Ebay.de....they aren't too hard to find.

a good welding company will be able to sort it , you might have to get a big lump of steel to bolt it to so it stays straight , then have the face milled the least you can to make sure its flat

That was my initial thought too Rob. Perhaps I'll bring it to Carlisle and see if the Henrob guys can fix it. I have a Henrob but I've never attempted to do cast iron with it...perhaps now's the time to try. Certainly there's little to lose.

Bring it to Carlisle for sure, if you don't find anyone to do it, I'll take it if you want me to and have the guys in my shop fix it with nickel rod. No guarantee but like you said...nothing to lose. I'll be at Carlisle for sure.

Same goes here Todd, I've had good luck welding cast iron with a nickel-based rod (TIG). Just gotta preheat it, and drill out the ends of the cracks to prevent spreading. So far, they've all held without cracking.
