Unanswered: HELP-manifold crack

Hi,
As I'm starting the engine teardown,I just took the exhaust and intake manifolds of the engine and found a crack in the exhaust manifold.
The crack is right in front of where the exhaust comes out of the engine (about 1 inch from the edge)
Can it be welded or should I be looking for a new manifold?
Please give me your opininions and help
Tx

theres one on e-bay at the moment but any good welding firm will be able to fix it if they know what to do with cast iron

If it's a stock exhaust manifold I wouldn't waste my money rewelding it. They are dirt cheap to get and you will most likely be offered one for free since most Opelers have more than one of those they'd like to get rid of.

Since you mention both intake and exhaust together, I take it you mean joined, bolted-together intake/exhaust manifold for a carbureted CIH engine. If that's the case, I agree with what 'nobody' says. If, however, you're talking about the other 'stock' exhaust manifold . . . single-year ('75), FI 'Sprint' style (separate from intake), it's definitely worth the effort of salvaging it by welding it . . . much rarer, pricey items.

OOps, No go I forgot the studs had to be drilled out to get the intake.

I'm sure one will turn up for you.
