Unanswered: Manifold vacuum on 1.1L dual carb

I'm tuning up my 1.1L GT that was rebuilt last year. Can someone with a 1.1L take a vacuum reading? I have only 15" of vacuum, so I don't know if that is normal or a little low for the 1.1L

Thanks guys

changed carbs

I swapped out the orginal 69 solex carbs for the older 66-67 carbs from a rally
The idle tuning is easier now and the vacuum is 16, so I guess that is about normal for 1.1L

15-17 in hg is normal IIRC. Depending on elevation the number will vary slightly. A;so if the engine is older or in need of a valve adjustment the number could be less. As long as the reading is steady the condition of the engine is usually fair. The rest of the story can be told by a leakdown and compression test. Another factor in engine vacuum is the camshaft the duration of the cam can cause thew vacuum readings to be lower than normal. Stock shouldn't have any issues. HTH
