Talking Unanswered: Clutch Installed

Well I had the OGTS clutch installed two days ago and just got back from a test drive. Sixty, seventy, eighty, ninety-five...... hell, I think my foot got touched by the holy ghost!!!

When I engage the first gear I get a clunk under the car... think it is the tube, will look at that area in the am.

There was a cool moment as I was leaving the house to ride the I-495 beltway around the DC area. A young guy with a 2007 Vett was weaving in and out of traffic to see just what in the heck that car in front of him was. Finally he pulls beside me and tries to sneak a look at the GT. I look at him and he turns back real quick and starts fooling with his sound system. I'm smiling at this guy because he is not aware that 2007 house note of a car is slowly creeping past the red light and into the intersection. No he did not hit that eighteen wheeler, but close. Looks at the GT again, but this time he is PISSED. Anyway hope to see everyone again in Carlisle.
PEACE

i can think of other places that vette could be, like my drive way for example , where it would be loved.

When I put in my clutch I had a vibration which I thought was the donut. So- donut changed, clutch changed- no leaks- no vibrations and torque up the rear end between 0 and 65 mph. I start hearing the rod knocking above 65 so I guess I know whats next.

Baronbors,
I only hear the knock/clunk when I engage the first and maybe second gear, but there is very little vibration at speed. I do plan to inspect the torque tube and rubber donut later today.

Why Opel GT Source or Opels USA- both sell Opel clutches- It is an Opel engine, isn't it?

Thats what mine sounded like in the early stage- I lost the back half of the donut first and then it went totally out. Even when it went out completly, I still got the worst of the kocking in 1st and second. It was hardly noticeable in 3rd and 4th unless I stood on it- which I didn't

no, the 1.9 gave up the ghost long ago, but i've got a 4speed "b" transmission (so, i think...there's a B cast into the shift tunnel) and if i'm gonna sell it, it would sell best WITH a clutch (for an auto swap)

such a tiny transmission and rear-end would have no chance with the power i aim to put in this thing...

but, then again, if i can't sell it, i could put it to good use in a go-kart...
thanks for the tips

Casey
