If it's the original 4 speed, it should be on the right side of the transmission case about half way up.

If tis is an automatic you fill thru the dipstick tube. For the 4 speed there is a large screw/plug with either an inset allen head or a square on it. You just fill tranny till it overflows and your done.

It is a bugger to fill the transmission. So be ready to leak fluid. I tried multiple methods and didn't find any that worked well. Problem is there is not much clearance between the filler hole and the underside of the body. You can't get the oil bottle up in there. I ended up using a long hose and standing beside the car. I tried various means of pushing the oil through the hose and none seemed to work. I ended up using lung power (put the oil in with a turkey baster, then blowing it through the tube. I worked, although not necessarily the safest from a health standpoint.

Anyone have a better method?

I just use a oil siphon to draw the oil into the tube, then 'inject' it into the transmission. Like this. Much cheaper if you buy one from NAPA rather than Snap-On, but you get the idea.

If you are going to use the "turkey baster" method, duct tape the bulb to the body and use heat stink to hold the hose on the other end. Squeeze the bulb with the hose in the lube bottle and fill the baster, insert hose on fill hole on the transmission and squeeze again to empty lube into the transmission repeat until full. Cost about $3.00 and is a handy item to have in your toolbox. If you want to get fancy, 6" piece of aluminum tubing and bend a 90 on the end with a tubing bender, insert in the end of the hose, heat srink and stick the bend in the fill that way it will not fall out.

I got frustrated with how long it was taking to put fluid in my gearbox and rear end I was using lucas oil (very thick stuff), so, I heated it up in the microwave to make it less viscous. It really helped.

i use an air pump run of the lighter socket and a 1 gal can to fill boxes
3 fittings go on the cap 1 fitting is a wheel air valve glued in to take the air line 1 is a bleeder and the other is a double push fitting with a length of alloy pipe down to the bottom of the can and some hose to run it to the box
theres is not a pressure build up, as the oil gets pushed out of more than a few psi and i have used this for years

the bleeder dumps the pressure as sone as you see oil come out the fill hole to stop flow

cant post a photo as a friend has it at the moment

Most auto parts stors sell a simple gear oil pump that screws ontop of a bottle of oil. Then you just pump it in.

I made this simple tool to fill the gear box on my Manta, out of 1/2" PVC water pipe and a funnel. I don't know whether it would fit through the engine bay in a GT, but definitely in a Kadett and Sportwagon. Combine with heated oil (already mentioned) and you are good to go!

I use a similar method as Dieter with my GT.

A small funnel and a length of flexible hose ran down through the shifter opening in the transmission tunnel.

Advance Auto sold at one time a similar setup that screws on top of a bottle of oil and has a breather valve and an on/off feature. I have used it as both Dieter and Brian mentioned for the different cars spoken about. Heating it up in the microwave will work, but just don't let the wife catch you. Jarrell

I'm gonna make you all feel bad, maybe. On Willit?, I have a 1/2 pint flexible squeeze bottle with a pointy tube from the bottom of the bottle to the top, then a 90 degree bend. I fill the bottle, put the pointy end into the tranny fill hole and squeeze. I guess I should mention the T-5 uses ATF.
