Sugg578, take a look around our Tech Center Here. It also includes a online, printable Factory Service Manual. Hth, Jarrell

What kind of "hardwair" are we talking about? Bolts to hold tranny to bellhousing? Shifter linkage? The whole tranny? What is wrong with the tranny?
As I am getting old you will need to clarify. It is like someone coming on this forum and saying "Can someone send me the parts to fix my car" and not saying what is wrong with it.

The transmission is so heavy that I can lift mine with one finger.
As far as removal and replacement goes, the project is as simple (or simpler) as any other transmission R&R.
Transmissions seem to be plentiful, but do study up on the alternative and better trans swaps so that you can improve your car while you're fixing it.
Naturally you want to check the clutch and flywheel while you're in there.

I can clarify what parts I need to fix my car, 20's, 50', & 100's. Dollars that is would be correct.

According to my books the bolts to mount the bell housing to the engine are M10X1.5X25 and the same for the bolts to mount the tranny to the bell housing. The bolts can be 8.8 strength but use some locktite (blue not red) on the threads so they don't back out and are lost, again. You might also want lock washers on them.

At the local hardware store it can be found where the other adhesives and glues would be.

Because I don't see any punctuation after your sentence I am going to assume it was a statement of understanding what I wrote.

Or as one fella said at the Ace in North Carolina where I used to live, Its right next to the tar buckets. And next to it was the bags of feathers.

Have fun, MIke

The red one is a more permanent hold. I have always needed to destroy the bolt and nut to get them apart. Use only if you don't want it apart for a long time.

I've never used locktite on the bellhousing bolts. Good lock washers should be enough if they are tightened properly.

Please do yourself a tremendous favor and search eBay or post a want ad for a Factory Service Manual for your car. A good used one is great that way you won't mind if it gets messed up a little when you're using it. I'm glad you're working on this but you could get alot of these answers yourself with illustrations from the FSM. I still laugh at the fact when I was your age I had just discovered what a rachet and socket set was. For you smart alecks out there, they had been around for awhile, I was that inexperienced.

Good point Harold, My Haynes is so old and used, the front and rear covers are missing. Another tool I used extensively, and I have 5-6 of them, torque wrenchs. It is almost impossible to do a correct engine build without one, and you'll strip out the threads in the aluminum bellhousing, poste haste without using one. It may be my USAF training, but not one piece of hardware is tightened without using one, even to my wheel lug nuts. It's that improtant to me.

1) upwards of $1,100 plus shipping unless you have a connection (if you do I want in on it)
2)The overdrive of the getrag may lower coolant temps right around water pump cavitation rpms (which are very high especially for long periods of time) but overall with a good cooling system and correct engine timing and fuel delivery tune a 4 speed highway rpms would not be a problem.
3) ogts always has getrags for sale....get your check book ready.
