Unanswered: gear box to be taken away - easier, trouble free and most recommended way

Hello, my dear opelers; as I told before, this forum is the one with the best advice and hints I ever seen, and I'm sorry I have to bother you once again.

This one addresses to those who already did it and already have some experience...
As I wrote here: http://www.opelgt.com/forums/127783-post9.html it seems I have to take the gear box down to change the gaskets and seals because is leaking. It is not an urgent matter, but it is a must, and I am not happy with a leaking car.

Please help me with your best advice (and maybe pictures) on the easier, trouble free and most recommended way to take away the gear box - I don't know if I can solve this without dismantling it - to replace all above.

Thank you in advance.

The best way is to have a (F)actory (S)ervice (M)anual to do this, especially if it's a 4-spd.
Good Luck

Oh, yeah, but when you do it for the first time and you're not a mechanic, but a hobbyst, the FSM is not quite enough... The only version I have available is the scanned one with the 'clearest' pictures ever...

Can I have more useful answers, please, before messing anything up? Thank you in advance.

BQS4, just imagine that I read the FSM before posting this and the things were not clear enough for me... I'm sorry!

please check the attachement

Just to clarify my concerns, I have prepared a file, containing pictures and some markings on the parts where FSM does not mention anything.

Please see bellow my worries:

- after taking out the exhaust pipe, parking brake cable, gear levers , supports (acc. to FSM) and the screws from A; do I have any reason to pay extra care and special attention when i take the axle out?
- is the 'donut' located to A1?
- to take the axle out of the gearbox, B, shall I just pull it, or do I have to unscrew/unlock anything?
- after taking out the bolts from the clutch cover, C, shall I just pull to get the gear box and cover out (of course, moving the engine accordingly to make some room for this)?
- what other sealers do I have to replace to stop the gear box from leaking, others than the ones marked with 1,2,3,4 (the 2 side levers, the front and the back of the gearbox)?

Thank you in advance,
Emilian
