Unanswered: Front Transmission Seal Removal

OK everybody.... How in the heck do you remove to replace the front transmission seal that is located in the bell housing? I have studied this since yesterday and can't figure it out. I know it must be so simple that it is staring me in the face. I have a 73 GT with the stock 4 speed.

Unbolt the trans. from the bell housing and install new seal and replace the gasket , the seal is between the trans. and rear of bell housing . HTH

I know the bell housing needs to be unbolted from the transmission. That's been done! How do you get the seal out of the bell housing?

the seal itself can be pryed out from the tranny side or knocked out with a hammer from the motor side.

It was so easy. Just pry it out. It just seemed to be more complicated than it was. The "tabs" were throwing me off. Still don't know what those tabs on the transmission side are for. Oh well, all is well that ends well.
