Unanswered: Odd Atf Leak

I am currently working on the ultimate goal of a leak free GT.. I am down to a few drips from the transmission that I am hoping are not omens of a rebuild.

The one coming from the speedo cable i can understand.. its the dripping off the front u-joint that has me puzzled.. see attached picture.

There are (2) seals in the speedometer drive. One is an O-ring on the outside of the main drive housing that the nylon gear and shaft passes through, the other is a small cup seal that is on the nylon shaft. The leak that will show oil on the front U-joint would probably be the transmission rear seal.

I don't know what "in situ" means, but you take out your drive shaft, pull out the seal and replace it, and put the driveshaft back in. No need to pull out the trans.

I have the same problem with mine but there is a lot of play on the bushing.
Is it also so easy to replace ? If I only replace the seal then it will leak again verry soon.

Unfortunately, I suffer from a "late-'40s/early-'50s" Dutch "classical" education, Dutch-French-German-English-Latin-Greek, which is confusing enough by itself, but, in the inimitable wisdom of the day, they also changed me from a "lefty" to a "righty", further complicating things! Then I came to the US and had to learn " 'Mercun " to boot!

Not all bad though, it made me a full-fledged member of the ACLU . . . uh, not that one, the much rarer and much more prestigious Ambidextrous Cunning Linguists Union!

Nope, just "public" (openbare) school, albeit Dutch, of course . . . don't know about today, but they used to start languages in the fourth grade there . . .

Try English in grade two , but they don't call them grades any more , they're called groups now, for some years.
group 1 first year kindergarten
group 2 second year kindergarten [yes we've got two years of kindergarten]
group 3 first grade
and the last group is #8 sixth grade

For those not so Otto like [cunning lnguist]
albeit: ([al]hoewel, ofschoon, Dutch) although, though, English
