overdrive blinking light

Hello friends,
I have an automatic opel 1.8 astra 1994/5 model. The problem is anytime i am driving, the overdrive light on the dashboard keeps blinking and the gears can not change automatically. this slows the speed of the car. please what is wrong? Help me out. Thx.

The blinking light means your trans is in limp in mode.
Could be any thing from a output speed sensor,input speed,shift solenoids...
