Unanswered: Help with leak from tranny.

I'm a new opel gt owner. And I have a leak coming from the tranny where the speedometer cable comes out. The previous owner said that he replace the o-ring. I was just curious if a regular o-ring will work or is there a special one? I can not find it in my parts book. Is this a common problem? Thanks for any info!

In addition to the o-ring on the speedo adaptor there's a seal for the speedo pinion inside the adaptor. OGTS has them. Replacing both the o-ring and pinion seal fixed the leaks on both my cars.

I have been trying to track a gear oil leak on Quazar too. Is this a picture of the same problem?

Yes. I just fixed them on my Manta. Same parts as on the GT. One o-ring
and one cup seal.
