Unanswered: Transmission fluid
I need to know as I have to go and buy the oil before I start the oil changing adventure. I have problems with to engage the first and second gear and read on some Opel forums that besides to replace a socket in the mecanism, it will be a good idea to also change the oil. I will use a standard gearbox oil, OR should I use ATF oil, some people do say so. Any comments on this. And, by the way, where do I find the oil plug for to take out the old oil and where is the plug for refilling. Thanks, Opel freaks out there Last edited by stylelined; 02-18-2009 at 10:47 AM. |

Hi stylelined and welcome
The bad news is that this is a Opel forum for Opel imported to the US until 1975, the good news is that maybe someone from a Vauxhall Astra forum [in England?] can help you. I would NOT use ATF oil in a manual gearbox.
