Thumbs up Unanswered: Jetting/Tuning Downdraft & Sidedraft Weber Carbs

I have had this site and article on my favorites list for some time and thought maybe some would have a need for more weber knowledge. Lately the weber threads are popping up like spring flowers............

Check out this article: Weber Carburetors Carbs 40 DCOE 45 DCOE 32/36 32/34 Jeep. Top-End Performance 818 764-1901

While the TEP (Top-End) link is good general info for tuning Weber, or any other, carbs, I would caution everyone here about TEP's general 32/36 jetting recommendations (kits) for Opel CIH engines. The operative word in both cases above is very much "GENERAL"! Their Opel engine jetting kits tend to the rich side which these carbs already are "out-of-the-box".

Want to know about OPEL engine carb jetting specifically? How about "SEARCH", "All these jets" . . . everything you want to know about 32/36 (and some others) jetting for Opel!! engines, and here since 12/2003!

Otto, I am well aware that this is just general information and not specific to the OPEL engine. My thoughts were like I stated in the post...... more weber carb knowledge. The article gave advice about the 32/36/, 38/38, DCOE, IDF, and IDA. Just thought there might be bits of technical information that could be cherry-picked for individual use.

to me there is only one way to set up a carb when you do things like change to a weber , especially the side drafts and especially if the head had been worked on for flow and valves

i take my car to a garage/speed shop with a rolling road (chassis dyno? ) and have them set up with no guess work , takes about an hour and there is no way to spend money on carbs that is better used

no worries about lean spots or running rich , just done right

my local shop when they sell you a carb would give you a best guess set in it so you could fit them and get it back to the shop and then when they tested it on the dyno would put the best ones in for the car they were on
or you could just drive to them and drop the car off and they fitted for a price
