Could you post a photo? Most Webers are vented to the interior of the air cleaner. In the old days carbs were just vented to the atmosphere, so I think you can just leave it open.
i had a question about my weber it has a bowl vent and i was wondering where im suppose to vent this too. I dont have a charcoal canister and im not sure if its even necessary to have since this is the first weber ive had that has had a vent.
thanks

I just find out that I close the bowl ventilation. What should at been the effects after closing. So far the car runs great![]()
If it's closed you could build up some pressure in the float bowl. That might result in erratic behavior (uneven mixtures). One likelihood is that you would push fuel into the intake after turning off the engine, causing hard starting when the engine is hot.
Bill, this won't be a problem. The Weber downdrafts are vented internally (within the air filter, just above the air corrector jets). So you can plug the charcoal cannister hose fitting if you wish.

Thanks all, this make me sleep well again.
Bill, sometimes when the engine is hot is it hard starting. So i will give it a try and tell you later if this gives any changes.
I was speaking in general terms and assuming he does not have a Weber. Based on Otto's input on the C.A.R.B. version vs. standard Weber, and the fact that he's in Belgium, he may have some other carb (or the original Solex), in which case the float bowl would probably require an external vent.
Bill
Sorry to be not clear enough; I have the weber like on the pic from Tekenaar
Sorry Bill, I was just going by what he said in his first post:I just figured he somehow got a US smog-spec 32/36 Weber based on this comment, since none of the other Webers seem to have the bowl vent.i had a question about my weber it has a bowl vent and i was wondering where im suppose to vent this too.
