Unanswered: Fuel Pump Placement
Electric fuel pumps are pushers and not pullers. So when you have an electric fuel pump, you need it by the tank. For a mechanical pump, they are pullers of fuel, so it is ok to have it on the motor. |

I moved my electric from the engine bay to the tank. Went from 19 gph to 25 gph. Although the 19 gph was probably enough for most carbs.

Speed sounds good, fuel consumption not so much! I'm told certain carbs (I've got a 38/38) have relatively small bowls and can, when the need is great, need quite a flow for brief periods to keep the bowl full. All can vouch for at this point is my 38 seems to be sucking the tank down REALLY fast! Once I get things sorted a bit I'll have to check my mileage. I bet it's not even 15 mpg at the moment.
