Answered: What is the best replacement carb?

What is the best replacement carb for the Ascona? After doing some research it seems to me the 32/36 DGEV Weber Carburetor is the best. Any input from the group would be highly appreciated.

JUST MY 2 CENTS.Get the 32 dgev new out of the box. Really make sure there are no exhaust or intale leaks.Set it up the best you can & run it for a while.Find a good carb guy that is comfortable with imports discuss what your trying to accomplish.Check out :all these Jets:I took Takenaars suggestions on jets that should be changed.Order the new jets from Bigjim & carb to if you like.Theres also OGTS but they don't sell the jets as a package.Big jim was a big help. After using The carb stock & then rejetted properly You'll notice the big difference in the high end you never thought you had in the first place. May take a few tries to get the jetting right but when it's right it's worth the fuss.Good luck

Hard to beat on a stock or slightly modified engine!

Just as a note here, and there's more info on the site. The 32/36 is great out the box (rich), but, with proper tuning (i.e. jets, and such), can/should be tuned to better your driving pleasure . . . performance and mileage.

weber

Yes, being a realist, there is no other carburetor that is available, parts and jetting being available and people willing to work on them, than the Weber DGAV series.

If you want a new one, give me a call, or visit Home

Just got the Weber 32/36 DGEV in the mail today. I'll post the results once it's installed. Thanks everyone.
