Unanswered: Hi notavette, Heater removal???

Saw you new pictures in the gallery.

Did the heater have to go because of the dual side drafts ?

removal

yea, because of the 2.2 head, I needed special intakes that are too long to avoid keeping the heaterbox in place.

Does anyone know of a way to keep the heater in with Dual Sidedrafts. I saw notavette's GT this past week and he did an excellent job in the cutting. I will be doing the same to my GT in the next week or two. So I was just wondering if anyone has had to deal with this and not cut the heater out to add not "shortie" sidedrafts?

Thanks

Heater

Sean, I'll be posting some more finished photos of the heaterbox. I completed the sheetmetal to cover up the hole that leads to the dash and primered it. I opted to keep most of the area where the original blower fan open so I have as much room as possible to access the carbs if I need. (If I need...yea right. That'll be an understatement. ) Besides, the more you can see the carbs the better...I think.
