Interesting item on German e-Bay, DBilas CIH DSD filtered airbox!

Since I have one of similar design, how the heck do you fasten the top to the base? There are tabs on the base for something to hook to.

I had thought about a rubber strap with a rectangular metal ring to latch over the hooks. Now the problem is finding them the correct length and I guess one could easily make the metal part.

. . . if I remember correctly, this is what the original straps looked like:

. . . the gray rectangles in my pic are crimped metal inserts . . . also from memory.

Any good motorcycle shop should have straps like that on hand. They are used to secure the battery and tool kits in place. Ask the parts guy, when you find one that fits well write down and share what it's for.

you can cut them out of inner tube too
