Unanswered: Cool intake on ebay . . .

Nice Steinmetz intake and Weber carb on German ebay. I'd buy it, but my project is going nowhere for a bit.

Is that a good price for this side draft, it rocks and I'd love to have it, but is there a HP increase sufficient enough to be worth the money. I already have a weber 32/36 DGEV.

Is it possible to bid on this item from US? My eBay user id will not work on German eBay - any suggestions? I would love to get this item!

yes it's a power increase worth doing and it's a Del Orto not Weber on it. Ask the seller if he will ship to the USA as it seems it stated Germany only. It never hurts to ask. I got a pair of Irmshers that way. Found out they would sell here and then never mentioned that after hearing of them here.

Nice Manifold....

...pity about the carb! That is a Solex DDH carb - Yes, Virginia, they made side drafts that bolt on to the Weber DOCE flange pattern.

He will ship: Versend nach weltweit = Dispatch after worldwide

Actually, "Versand nach Weltweit" is "Shipping to worldwide" . . . "nach" means either "after" or "to" depending on sentence context.

Here's my earlier reply in the "Let's talk sidedrafts" thread. Kinda says it all!

Apologies

Sorry I misrepresented the carb as a Webber :o . I'm not as mechanically savvy as many of the folks here, and it LOOKED just like the Webber DCOE 40's I've seen. At any rate, I'm admittedly not ANY sort of authority, so many thanks to those who have posted corrections.

Also, I've managed to work with one of our German members, who has been kind enough to forward "German Only" items to me (that's how I got both sets of Irmscher's I've imported). If the seller won't ship to the U.S., let me know and something can probably be arranged (warning, overseas shipping isn't cheap -- I'd guess $50 - $60).

I'm considering going after it. Acceptable shipping method is "bank credit draft" any input or experience with this kind of transaction?

Easy ... but

He gives you his Bank's Address and his account details - including a "switch number"
You go to your bank and say : "please transter so many Euros from my to this account in Germany"
It costs you aout $25 to send it and him E 10 to recieve it.

Relatively expensive but quick and tracable ......

YES it's worth it.

I noticed a big difference in in power over my 32/36dgev. Enough for me to recommend it. Doesnt sound quite as good as twins but still is pretty cool. Enough to make you want to keep the throttle open.

birthday present

The exhaust system would make a nice gift to me.I normally dont accept presents, as your friendships mean more to me

But I will make an exception this year, if there is any rich opel benefactors, you can buy that and send it to me?

its better to give that receive

didnt that resonator sell for like $400 ,when it was in stock at ogts?

Great engine . . . metal fuel filter?

Nice engine . . . you really should swap that metal can fuel filter for a plastic one though (see below).

Metal can filters, particularly on the exhaust/intake side of the engine, really absorb a lot of underhood heat. Not a good thing any way you look at it.

Sold!! $426.36 Usd

Manifold/carb just sold for $426.36 add that to all the fees associated with bank transfer (about $35.00) plus the $40.00 in shipping = $500.00 - I think I can do better finding something else in the states.

In most cases you would be correct . . . not with a Steinmetz Opel SSD and any carb! Rare and, for that reason, typically expensive . . . when you can find one!
