Unanswered: DellOrto (was Delorti) Side Draft Carbs

I saw some Delorti side drafts on epay and can't seem to find any info on these.I was wondering if anyone has them or knows much about them.I threw out a low bid but would like to know more before I go Highger. Thanks Tim

Good carbs

Have a search for "DellOrto" on this site and have a look here:

http://www.dellorto.co.uk/

Click on Car carburetors section and look at DHLA .. put mouse curser on the lower right hand arrow head and scroll down the page.

Good carbs - some say better than Weber DCOEs for street use ......

I've used no other sidedraft carb since converting one of my GTs to SSD (Single Side Draft). Started with a single DHLA40 on the 1.9 and have since built and installed a custom 1.9 based, 10.6CR, large valve, 2.2 (94mm x 77.5mm) with a single DHLA48, the largest Dell'Orto made. Even though they were a bit more difficult to get parts for at the time (before I discovered the Italian site), I actually prefer them over comparable size Webers.

Loved your 'epay' slip . . .

GT SSD 'cold air' and heat shield details

. . . here's a couple SSD 'cold air' pics:

. . . and a pic of the fabricated SSD 'heat shield' (hangs from bottom two DHLA manifold mounting bolts) . . . that I'm always harping about:

. . . well worth the little effort it took to fabricate. You'd be amazed at the difference it makes in the air temperature under the carb fuel bowl!! . . . should give some food for thought!

I talked to the guy in Greece it is $65 for shipping. It looks like someone else here wants the set up on US epay more than I.So instead of paying to much I will collect my own setup. If I get these 2 I will need to track down linkage and manifolds. Thanks Tim

Thanks Baz I am now the owner of twiners!!I talked to the guy and he also has the manifolds and linkage. So it looks like I should get it all at once.He also has 15 weber 40's.I also got a hold of Misab and I don't know exchange rates but looks pricey.16900 for twins and 7500 for single.

DCOMs

I have found some Weber DCOMs - I think there is something in the Tech section about jetting Dell'Orttos.

delorot carb scam on e-bay

watch out, I put in a bid on a some Delortos a while back, I was contacted by some one that said he has an exact pair, and wanted me to send $ through western union to england. He wouldent send pictures and he even had made up some e-bay security notices that he was for real. Watch out for this dude, he makes it look legit, ebay did notify me that it was a scam and luckly I was able to cancel my transaction.
