One of the reasons for changing the front axle was the jibbering of the steering wheel when using the breaks, and the second one was because of the position of the right wheel see photo # 1, the reason for this, you can see in photo # 2 - 4 there is about 2 - 3 cm [1"]of material that is not broken

I sure am glad I did, I think it's from an accident I had some years back, I hit a car in front of me on a wet road, just sliped into it. the other car had a towing hook, and I had the luck to hit that right on the beam that carries the front suspension, but it could have been the accident the car had when it was new, that maybe started the process, but I'm not sure.

Still working on the @#?!@# car, Mr Murphy came to visit last sunday, telling my self [yes I do speak to my self and no I'm not crazy] when I pulled the engine and automatic out, to connect the kick down cable before putting the engine and automatic back
, should have written it down, because I forgot to hook up the cable. That took about 2½ hours to fix. then I hooked up the coolant hoses and filled the radiator with coolant, drip, drip, drip, after fixing that, started to install the carb. Had to make new gaskets [no problemo have the gasket material in stock].First problem: gas cable wasn't good, other type of connection on the carb, fixed that. Second problem: Because I use LPG as fuel, I have what we call a "gas piece" between the carb and the throttle, the connection of the gas piece was just the other way then I needed to be, no problem, I thought, loosen two screws turn the connection piece around and fasten again, yes I thought wrong, couldn't get one screw loose, so replaced this one with an other, problem solved. In the meantime my brother arrived [to help], just when I was starting the car couldn't start it on LPG so I switched to gas and the car ran, had to adjust it some tho, tried LPG again, but: no show. Well to make it short, hooked up an other carb what meant: changing the intake manifold [lucky the bolts didn't break], and other stuff just to find out I still had the same problem as with the other carb. At 22.00 h we called it a day and stopped. [btw one brake connection was leaking and couldn't be fixed with the tools I have so my brother is coming thursday with the proper tools] Keep you posted

Car is fixed now
, just have to check the timing and stuff like that. I can feel the differance between the 1.9 [70 hp] and the 2.0 [90 hp] engine.

Been driving the car for a few weeks now
, and gave it, last Saturday, a change of motor and ATF oil, a fresh oil filter and adjusted the timing, dwell and valves, cleaned and adjusted the plugs and the engine is now purring like a kitten.
