Is this really an Opel? I thought the right hand drive cars were Vauxhall's.

Yes this is really an Opel.
Opel made RHD versions of nearly all it's models (with the exception of the GT).
The Opel/Vauxhall badge engineering only kicked in after 1975 when the B series cars came out.
Then you had:
Opel Kadett C = Vauxhall Chevette
Opel Manta B = Vauxhall Cavalier (coupe and sportshatch)
Opel Ascona B = Vauxhall Cavalier saloon
The last Opel badged cars in the UK were the Monza and Manta B Exclusive.
This is all from memory, I'm sure one of the UK members will chip in with more info and/or corrections.
