Cherokee,
I would be interested in buying the column ignition assembly, if it is still intact. My (new to me) '75 Ascona SportWagon was missing that when it was rescued from a Tacoma salvage yard by Kat McCoy last year. I don't now exactly what I need, but it seems the entire ignition assembly is missing (the car was wired to start/run using an aftermarket ignition mounted in the floor console). So I would pay to have whatever you can remove from the column, or maybe even the entire column, since Kansas City is a wee too long a drive from Calgary to come and get it. And it would be even better if your ignition assembly came with a key; then I would get the door lock tumblers cut to fit it. Contact me either here or off-list using the PM or e-mail function from my profile. Thanks! |

Keith, I think that the ign. switch is all there. I will not be able to check until the weekend. I leave for work when it is dark...when I get home it's dark. I will check it out this weekend and then let you know. I "think" my e-mail is fixed so I will try to PM you this weekend....If you don't see something from me by sunday drop me a note back here.

Sweet Asconas, BSQ. I love the blue, my favorite color.
Here are a couple of pics of my old Sportwagon. Alas, I sold it in 1990. Wish I still had it. Still have the Cromodora rims, though! http://www.printroom.com/ViewAlbumPh...56&image_id=20 http://www.printroom.com/ViewAlbumPh...56&image_id=21 -Dave Clark |

In those photos the front is lowered but I had not yet lowered the rear so it's got a bit of rake! Wagons look much better lowered. I don't have too many photos of that car, unforntunately. Somewhere I've got a couple photos of it lowered front and rear with the 14" Panasports from the rally car on it. I don't think it's the greatest pic, though. I'll have to go dig it out. -Dave Clark |

Edit: Duh! You explain that in the pic. I didn't see that the first viewing. Last edited by ascona; 12-23-2003 at 12:11 AM.. |

Dave;
Thanks for the comments, I have a green 74 automatic Sportwagon for my wife. I have a 5-spd for my Wagon waiting in Belgium for me. BTW, I love the blue color too, as it's the color my favorite NASCAR driver uses. I wish you still had your Wagon, I have a MIB luggage rack for the Sportwagon. What size are the Cromodoras? I'm always looking for wheels for Opels. Gene |

Putting an engine in it should help quite a bit on that score, Keith.

Hmm, I think the engine was in when that photo was taken. You should see it NOW, sitting next to my raked Lexus IS300 with TTE springs all around. The disparity is a bit startling! That might require a photo to be posted...
