A/C upgrades

Has any Opeler out there replaced the A/C blower with a more modern ie) stronger and quieter unit? Any other upgrades to make the A/C work better are appreciated .... driving an Opel in Arizona during the summer is less than ideal.
Here is what I have done to date:
1) Clean the system
2) Install a bigger radiator to keep the engine cooler
3) Retrofit a smaller compressor
4) Tint the glass

a/c opel gt

I have been thinking of installing an a/A/C from a GEO METRO.
The compressor is small and easy to mount.
I have been looking at minivan rear A/C for the blower unit
If you keep it 1996 or newer you use the new freon.
If any one fas any other thoughts I would like to hear them.

As for your radiator
You can have it recored with high efficiency core and add an extra row.
This keeps my 3.1 liter cool

I was thinking of installing a more efficient Sanden compressor to replace the old York/Tecumseh (can't remember off hand which it is). Did this on my T-Bird and the HP drain is a lot less.

Has anyone else tried this? What was required?

RallyBob will become famous soon enough
I'm going to try to adapt the A/C system from my Nissan Sentra onto my '71 Ascona wagon for the trip out to CA. When I start fabbin' up brackets and whatnot I'll post pics here in a few month's time. The hard part seems to be fitting the condensor, the bigger radiator, and (eventually) the intercooler. Not much room up there.

Sounds VERY interesting . . . take LOTS of pics, maybe with dimensions added?
