Gene, back on post #16 of this thread I said he was TWO. They were already counted at 25 and 26.
Let's keep it honest.

For those who are in the market for one, here's a Wagon that just popped up on Ebay.

yesterday I speant 8 hours in the car searching this part of the state for opels. While chasing a lead that lead me through a tiny lake town, suddenly a bright ray of sunlight broke through the clouds and alighted itself on a beautiful sight. As my eyes fell upon the sacred object a loud voice from the heavens cried, behold thine many blessings!!! 6 Opels sat before me!! Anyway, 4 gts, 1 kadett, and one wagon 1900.
So just wanted you to know that if anyone is in the market for a wagon, theres one out here too. Im going back out there to talk to the guy. Hopefully he will be there.
btw the kadett looked fair. One GT I'll be talking to him about. It has some body damage but it looks like a complete car. the other gt's are worth about $10 each at the recycling center unless...do they recycle rust?...no?...well maybe $5 bucks each then. Hes got them completely stripped and stuffed into the wagon.
anyway let me know if any one needs parts off kadett or wagon and ill ask him about it for you. Im sure he'd sell them.

Clayton;
If he'll sell parts, I'll take the tail light lenses, and I need the cover for the hatch lift bars. If it has a hatch lift handle, that'd be nice to have too. Also any of the back 3 interior panels in the storage area and if so equipped and complete, a roof rack.

Gene,
Im going to try to get out there tomorrow, I'll write down those parts and ask him about them. If he says he's willing to sell all or part of them I will try to bum a camera to take some pics so you all know whats there to be had.

hey guys,
I went out there but the dude was nowhere to be found.
I looked over the cars for a while though. 1 gt, the 1900, and the Kedett all have complete motors and the cars seem to be all there. The 1900 apears to be stuffed with what I believe was a Manta. I took lots of pics and tried to load one but it said "file to large"...?....one pic? anyway I'll tell you. The wagon and Kadett both have suprisingly little rust damage. lots of light surface rust but no holes or nothin. as far a parts..I really dont know whats hard to find. The tail lights where cracked, but the front and rear sidemarkers on the wagon and kadett look great. also the door mirror on the 1900 was in really good shape. there is a big harrison ac unit on the drivers seat of the 1900...i think out of the manta. probly to big for a gt but if works would go in kadett manta or 1900 without any problem i would think. I didnt bring a wrench to turn the motors so i dont know if they are frozen but I doubt the are. the cars look like they may have been driven there. the gt motor moved a little by hand. also there was another motor on the ground. I think it is a 1.1? with a weird lookin tranny attached. (tiny) but has opels stamp on it.I have pics but I dont get how to put them on. anyway probly best if anyone is interested further to just ask and maybe i can answer questions.

by the way paul, these are just outside muskogee....not far from you at all. incase your looking for anything besides just a windshield. (the windshield on the gt has 2 rock chips in it, but not much "pitting". If you want it let me know and I'll repair the chips for you before you pull it out so they wont crack on you. (ive got 8 years expirience in auto glass repair and replacement) they are what we call bullseyes style breaks. The least visible when repared.

Clayton;
Go to www.irfanview.com and down load their free viewer program. When you have it loaded, pull up the pics in the program and resize them to about 600 X 600 pixels and they will be accepted. Or e-mail them to me and I'll resize them. smit7703"at"bellsouth.net

Clayton,

The windshield presently one the car has one bulleye w/ 2 short spider cracks plus LOTS of sand blast pitting. The bulleye is not much of a problem since its behind the rear view mirror, but the pitting causes extreme glare driving into the sun. Not to mention it makes the wipers can't do a good job in the rain. Just looking something with less pitting.

When I get back in town this weekend, maybe I can go take a look.

Cool. Those camera people on the last one are nuts. That can't be a safe place to stand.
As much as of an adreneline rush as driving. Well, not quite.

I wanted to bump this back up front, as I was looking at the video of this Ascona Wagon racing. I always wanted to know what was under the hood of this thing. Well, I took a look around the site of LDS Turbo and found this. This looks like some of RallyBob's handy work

Signal Green 1900 Wagon

My first car was a Signal Green '74 1900 Wagon. There would be no mistaking mine because I put Limo Black tint all around and added a pullout radio and 2 door speakers. I got rid of it in '92. The guy that bought it drove it awhile, maybe a year, and last I heard it went to a junk yard unfortunately. It's too bad because it was clean for a midwest car. I also used to grab parts from an Orange one that was in a yard near the Cal-Sag Channel. My son says that his buddy's Grandpa has a Brown one in his back yard. If anyone has seen my first car, I would love to find out where it went. I will try to scan some pictures of it in.

You forgot one in Ohio

We have a 75 Sportwagon in Rally Gold. We call it "Colonel Mustard", for obvious reasons. The wagon is stored at Vickie's parent's house. They drive it a lot. As a matter of fact, Vickie's Mom picked it up for us in Texas a few years ago, and drove it home. She loves that car!

Hey Vickie - I really enjoyed driving that wagon when it was mine. It was a real crowd pleaser at all the shows I took it to. I probably would have kept it if it was a manual trans. It wasn't until I acquired it...that I remembered how boring it is to drive an Opel with an automatic trans. I toyed with the idea of putting a 5 speed in it but felt it was sacrilege to alter such a pristine Opel.

It's not a sacrilege, it REALLY enhances the performance of the car, trust me...
